Stopniowanie przymiotników
1. W przypadku krótkich przymiotników, jednosylabowych dodajemu końcówkę -er w stopniu wyższym oraz -est w stopniu najwyższym.

clean	cleaner	the cleanest
great	greater	the greatest
small	smaller	the smallest
old	older	the oldest

2. W przypadku kiedy krótki przymiotnik (zwykle dwusylabowy) kończy się na literę -y, zamieniamy -y na -i po czym dodajemy końcówkę -er oraz -est.

pretty	prettier	the prettiest
heavy	heavier	the heaviest
happy	happier	the happiest
silly	sillier	the silliest
ugly	uglier	the ugliest

3. Jeżeli krótki przymiotnik kończy się na literę -e, dodajemy końcówkę -er oraz -st.

fine	finer	the finest

4. W przypadku gdy mamy do czynienia z dłuższymi przymiotnikami (więcej niż dwie sylaby) dodajemy more  oraz most  przed długimi przymiotnikami.
